Chips and cracks spread faster. That tiny ding from winter debris? The heat causes it to expand and turn into a long crack seemingly overnight.
Uneven temperatures create stress. If you blast cold A/C on a hot windshield, it can cause a sudden change in temperature—what’s known as thermal shock—which increases the risk of cracking.
